We were approached to investigate options for refurbishment of an existing building providing bar, restaurant and office facilities for a small marina on Guernsey. The existing building, constructed in the 1960’s was in need of a thorough overhaul and our client was keen to enhance the services offered so ultimately it was decided that the building should be replaced.
The site is adjacent to a Conservation Area and an Area of Natural Significance so the replacement building is in a sensitive location. Having said that replacement of the 1960’s building is generally welcomed. Our design draws on local landscape and building forms to create a solution sympathetic to the local built and natural environments. An application for Planning Consent has been prepared and is currently being determined.
Project value £3million.
